About Lewa Wildlife Conservancy:

Location:  Northern Kenya.

Getting There:

BY Air - There are daily scheduled and charter flights to Lewa from Wilson Airport,Nairobi. It takes about 1 hour 10 min. from the airport to airport.

BY Road -  It is a 4 hour drive from Nairobi on the Thika Road to Lewa Downs.

What To Do :

Bird watching, Game viewing, Bush walks/meals, Educational tours, Massage & Beauty Treatments,Visit Masaai village, Horse & Camel riding.

When To Go:

Best time to visit Lewa Conservancy is June to September (Dry season).

Remember -   The lodges in Lewa are closed in April, May and November because the condition of the roads due to heavy rainfall.

Attraction

 Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is registered as a rhino conservancy in 1983, it is famous for its successful rhino and grevy zebra breeding. It is an award-winning model for community conservation. The gamedriving is outstanding with plentiful, rhino, elephant, buffalo, the rare Grevy Zebra and resident predators, to a backdrop of beautiful views of snow capped Mt. Kenya.

One of the attractions is the number of endangered Black and White Rhino that can be found in the Conservancy, as well as rare animals such as Grevy's Zebra and the Reticulated Giraffe.
Lewa Conservancy allows you the freedom to do different safari activities such as going on bush walks accompanied by local guides who will help you interpret the secrets of the bush. If you are looking for a more relaxing time, then spend some times in one of the hides overlooking the waterhole. The lodges also offer optional activities such as Horseback safaris and even safaris on Camel back.

Visit the Ngare Ndare Forest Reserve and seek Black and White Colobus Monkeys as well as many species of birds. The Conservancy is actively involved in the community and guests are actively encouraged to participate in conservation and community projects to immerse yourself in local culture and learn about life in Africa.
